Obituary A Time To Be Born Johnny "Moses" Johnson entered this world on August 20,1957 in Clarendon County, SC as the son of the late Henry and Ethel Mae  Benbow Sweat  Johnson. He was affectionally called Moses. A Time To Grow Moses attended the public schools of Clarendon county. He was a proud  graduate of Manning High School. As a young man he was employed by  Sunbeam Manufacturing in Manning, SC for many years. He was a mechanic by trade but a brick mason by choice. He found his niche as a brick mason and this was the type of work that brought him joy.  Moses worked as a brick  mason for several contractors through out the course of his life. He last worked for Wilkes Builders until his health failed.  A Time To Worship Moses joined Fourth Crossroad Baptist Church in Manning, SC in his youth and remained a member there until his passing. A Time To Love Moses found love and was united in Holy Matrimony to Eartha Lee Smith. They were married for 25 years. A Time To Testify In September of 2017, Moses fell seriously ill and was hospitalized. He was put in a medically induced coma and placed on life support. The Lord Jesus Christ extended his grace and mercy and Moses went home that December. A Time To Die On Friday, July 24, 2020, Moses came to the end of his life's journey on earth and closed his eyes in death at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC at 4:44 PM. A Time To Mourn Moses leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Eartha Lee Smith-Johnson; a son, Marcus Anderson of Philadelphia, PA; a step-son, Corey Stukes of Sumter, SC; a step-daughter, Tiffany Smith of Sumter, SC; three brothers, Calvin (Mary) Johnson of Paxville, SC, Cleveland (Robertha) Sweat of Manning, SC and Charles Sweat of Sumter, SC; three sisters, Rebecca (Roosevelt) Sinkler of Pinewood, SC; Nancy D. Rose of Sumter, SC and   Victoria Gibson of Orangeburg, SC; three sisters-in-law, Bobbie Williams, Edith Sweat and Elizabeth Sweat all of Sumter, SC; two special cousins reared in the home: James Clark and Emma C. Adger; a special niece he took into his home; Susan R. Prioleau; eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
