Obituary Johnathan James Mitchell Barnhill, 37, passed away October 31, 2021 after sustaining head injuries in an accident. Mitchell, as he was known to his family, was born January 6, 1984 in Florence, South Carolina to Terry Wayne Barnhill, Sr. and Dianne Johnson Barnhill. He earned his GED in 2006. Mitchell brought joy and excitement to those around him, and made friends easily. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. Mitchell has always had a special connection with animals, and in the past few years, he found his passion in training and grooming dogs. He took great pride when he saw one of his pups go on to become a  K-9 officer. Mitchell is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Monroe Barnhill and Kathleen Skipper Barnhill of Aynor, his maternal grandfather, Henry "Dick" Johnson of Conway, his twin sister, Candice, and his daughter, Madison. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Cora Larrimore Johnson of Conway, SC, his parents, his two sons, Terry Mitchell and Alston, and their mother, Jillian Strickland of Galivants Ferry, SC, his daughter, Isabella Embry of Gaithersburg, MD, sister, Terra Barnhill (Adrianne) of Charlotte, NC brother, Terry Wayne Barnhill Jr. (Christine) of Woodstock, Ill, as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins who will miss his special charm.    Thanks to the Neuroscience Intensive Care team at McLeod Medical Center in Florence, the individual who found the accident scene and called 911, and White's Mortuary of Sumter, SC for their service.
