Wilson affectionately known as "Rusty" entered this life on June 3,1946 in Lee County, South Carolina. John was educated at Mount Pleasant in Lynchburg, SC. He worked at Capital Foam Products in East Rutherford, New Jersey as a machine operator for 47 years before he retired. John was known for his down to earth personality which attracted everyone he came in contact with. He was a giving, generous, and loving person who always tried to see the good in people. He loved watching westerns, spending time with his family and cooking the best dinners. On December 6 ,2020 John departed this life leaving behind a host of family and friends who loved him daily. John was preceded in death by his loving wife Edna Mae Wilson, parents Liza and Henry Wilson, six siblings, Pauline Cooper, Zach Wilson, Henry Law Wilson, Robert Wilson, Mary Degraffenreid, and Marie Wilson. John leaves to cherish his memory his four children: Rodney Small of Sumter SC, Eric (Latoya) Small of Sumter SC, Anthony (Naomi) Small of Wilkes Barre PA and Vito (Carolyn) Small of Sumter SC, eighteen grandchildren: Rodney Small, Lanasia Small, Marcel Thompson, Moniefah Marshall, Zyierre Small, Zaniye Small, Marquise Boyd, Rashawn Small, Evan Small, Arielle Small, Darryl Washington, Ashmira Anderson, Aleah Small, four special grandchildren: Jieeal Clarke, Ericka Thompson, Eric Thompson, Nyzonte Small, eleven great-grandchildren, three sisters Mary Moses, Sue Mae Wells, Bertha Scarborough. one brother, Walter McClary, six special nephews: Johnny Howard, James Howard, Freddie Scarborough, Don (Snappa), John Scarborough and Sean Small, three special friends, June Plie, Vet and Jamie Allen and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of John E Wilson, please visit our floral store.
