Obituary Please Click Below for the Live Funeral Services for Mr. Joe Gregg, Jr. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 11:00 PM https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/joe-gregg-jr-graveside-services Mr. Joe Gregg Jr. was born on September 7, 1945 in Sumter, SC to the late Joe Cephus Gregg and Paralee Jamison Gregg. Joe Gregg was passionately known as "Coot". He was educated in the public schools in Sumter County, SC. As a young adult Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended Mulberry Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board as well as the Senior Choir. Joe started working at Korn Industries at the age of 21 and was a loyal and dedicated employee for 41 years until his retirement in 2007. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Claudette Dyches; three brothers,  JP Gregg, Eli Gregg, Willie Gregg; two sisters  Luella Paige and Elizabeth Gregg. Joe departed this life on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Sumter, SC. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Matthette Benjamin Gregg; three children Jermaine (Makesha) Benjamin (Conyers, GA), Renet'e (Kareem) Washington (Acworth, GA) and Carsey (Ashantia) Benjamin (Charlotte, NC); sixteen grandchildren, Kevin, Rondretta,  Benjamin, Jermayah, Daesjah, D'Naya, Parrish, Maia, Devin, Donovan, Jaelyn, Breiahna, Keziah, Carsey Jr., Dynasti, Logan; four great-grandchildren Aniyah, Ashton, Jeremy, Adrien; one brother Johnny Gregg (Harrisburg, PA); a son-in-law, Stacey Dyches (Philadelphia, PA), three  sisters-in-law, Mary Ruth Gregg (Sumter, SC); Patricia Gordon (Bronx, NY), Tryfenia (Crystal) Moses (Sumter, SC); special cousin, Hattie Mae Sampson (Summerville, SC); five nieces, Lilian Brooks (San Antonio, TX), Annette McKnight (San Antonio, TX) Jeannette McKnight (NY, NY), Tonya Gregg and Shanora Gregg (Sumter, SC); two nephews Larry McKnight (Philadelphia, PA), Carlos Gregg (Florida); other nieces, nephews, family and friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Joe Gregg, Jr., please visit our floral store.
