For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy4: 6-8 Joe "Bobby" Johnson, Jr., was born September 24, 1950 to the late Joe Johnson, Sr., and Margaret Laws Johnson in Sumter County. He departed his earthly dwelling on June 28, 2022 at his home. Joe was educated in the Sumter County Public School System. He was employed at Santee Print and moved on to his favorite, a mechanic at Lee County Disability and Special Needs Board where he retired. He was a faithful member of St. Peter AME Church; he was St. Peter AME Father of the Year 2014; a member of the Sons of Allen and a member of The Pride of Sumter-A35 International Masons. Joe had a passion for helping people and he loved his family. He was an honest and caring man not only to his family but to anyone he came in contact with. Joe was united in holy matrimony to Wilhemenia Stephenson Johnson, January 15, 2012. His memory will be cherish by his wife, two sons: Sherman Fullard (Renee) of Niceville, Florida; Corey L. Johnson of Hampton, Virginia, four step-children: Bobby McKay of Tennessee; Carolyn McKay Farqunarson, of Somerset, New Jersey; Andrea McKay and Sunny Taylor, both of Patterson, New Jersey. One sister: Julia Johnson Sullivan of Washington, DC; four brothers: William Johnson and Simon Johnson (Mardestine) of Lynchburg, SC; Jerie Johnson of Seat Pleasant, Maryland; and Levern Johnson of Forestville, Maryland. Four sister-in laws: Dorothy Johnson, Debra Johnson, Marian Johnson and Mae McDuffie. Five grandchildren: Traveris and Tanner Fullard, Jahleel R. Johnson, Ja'Maria M. Johnson, and Courtney A. Johnson; four step-grandchildren: Adanus Miles, Evenny McKay, Miracle Pittman and Rihanna McKay. Devoted friends of the family: Laurine McDonald, Chief Apostle Francis and Harry Lee Fulwood and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and supporting friends. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister Minnie Johnson McElveen; two brothers David Johnson and Leroy Johnson.
