https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/jerry-johnson Jerry Roger Johnson was born on October 15, 1951, in Sumter, South Carolina. He was the youngest son of the late Paul, Sr. and Mary E. Thompson Johnson. Jerry was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduation, he moved to New York. While in New York he was employed at Hanger Corporation for 20 years. Upon returning to Sumter in 1999, Jerry began working for Thompson Industrial Service, until he became disabled. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed fishing and watching Carolina Panthers play football, his favorite football team. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his siblings, Marion E. Thompson and Paul Johnson, Jr., and a brother-in-law, Todd Davis, Sr. Jerry Roger Johnson was called to rest on June 1, 2023, at Pruitt Health in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Jerry Roger Johnson leaves to cherish his memories the love of his life of 39 years, his wife, Diane Pegram Johnson; two children, who he treasured, Ashley and Corey Johnson of Atlanta, GA; one sister-in-law, Shirley Abrams of Sumter, SC; four brothers-in-law, Dave Davis, Wendell Davis, Darrell Davis, Sr., and Wilentz Davis, all of New York; five nieces, Nicole Johnson, D'jovnne Davis, Danesha Davis, Jae Marie Davis, and Kiara Davis; six nephews, James Johnson, Todd Davis, Jr., Darrell Davis, Jr., Darren Davis, Devon Davis, and Taylor Davis; along with a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
