Mr. Jerome Adger, son of the late Sylvester Adger, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Ludd Adger, was born on December 10,1955 in Clarendon County. Jerome received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. He subsequently joined the United States Army, where he served for approximately three years before being honorably discharged. Upon separation from the military, Jerome worked for many years as a skilled brick mason. His work can be seen in many areas of the surrounding counties. Having been born and raised in the church, at an early age, Jerome joined the St. Mark Baptist Church, Silver, S.C. He served as a member of the Junior Choir and Usher's Ministry. He later attended and subsequently joined Chapel A.M.E Church, Paxville, S.C., where he attended faithfully. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Adger, Sr. and Elizabeth Ludd Adger; sister, Evelyn Adger; and brothers, James Legrant Adger, Joseph Adger, Leonard Adger Sr., Franklin Adger, and Rev. John E. (Juanita) Adger. Jerome transitioned to his eternal rest on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Jerome leaves to cherish his loving memory, one brother, Sylvester Adger Jr.; five sisters, Minnie Wilson, Sarah Adger, and Betty A. Graham, all of Sumter, S.C., Dr. Barbara J. Adger of Hepzibah, GA, and Melissa A. (Daniel) Brownlee of Manning, S.C.; one paternal aunt, Gladys Singleton, of Sumter, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
