Obituary Mr. James G. Polk, Sr was born August 5, 1926 in Panola, SC to the late Ison and Mary Martha Polk . He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He join the United States Navy at an early age and served until he retired. He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC  under the leadership of Pastor, Larry C. Weston. He was honored as the oldest veteran at the church. He departed his life on April 21, 2020 at Prisma Health in Sumter, SC. He leaves to cherish his memories; a son, James (Donna) Polk, Jr.; two daughters, Virginia Blackwood and Patricia Smith; two sisters, Louise Polk (Edward) Choice and Albertha Rhodes; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of James G.
