Obituary James Leslie West, the son of the late Charlie and Rosa Billy West was born February 16, 1937 in Clarendon County, SC.He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County, SC.At an early age, he became a member of Mount Pleasant UME Church in Pinewood, SC.As a young adult, he relocated to Washington, DC, where he pursued his career with the DC Transit until his retirement. During the time in Washington, DC, he received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. "Leslie" as he was affectionately known returned to Manning, SC and reunited with the Mount Pleasant UME Church, where he was a faithful member and worked wherever he was needed until his health declined.Leslie was preceded in death by his parents.James Leslie "One More Time" West departed this life on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Sumter, SC.He leaves to cherish his loving memory two sons, Harry Taylor of Salisbury, NC and Leslie C. Hunt of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Hazel (James) Chestnut of Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Esaw Johnson of Thomasville, NC and James Allen (Sarah) West of Manning, SC; two uncles, Clyde Billy of Pinewood, SC and James Elijah Billy of Thomasville, NC; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
