Ivey Sylvester Jennings

"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die.” Ecclesiastes 3:1–2

Mr. Ivey Sylvester Jennings was born on March 15, 1956, in Sumter County, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of the late Alex Moody Jennings and Joe Ree Covington Jennings.

Ivey received his education through the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a faithful member of Shining Light Holiness Church, where he worshipped and grew in his faith.

Mr. Ivey Sylvester Jennings peacefully departed this earthly life and entered his heavenly home on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina.

Ivey will be lovingly remembered by his three devoted sisters, Rosa Lee Jennings, Margaret Montgomery, and Algie Green, all of Sumter, South Carolina. He also leaves cherished memories with his special family, Aaron (“Mo Ann”) Dowdy, Rashaun Porter, Imad Al-Shafiq, and Ava Al-Shafiq, all of Atlanta, Georgia, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
