Hercules Garrick, Sr. widower of the late Alberta Kennedy Garrick was born December 9, 1930, in Sumter, South Carolina to the Genie and Eloree Boyd Garrick. In his youth, he joined Bethel AME Church and later joined St. Paul Holiness Church where he was baptized. Hercules always believed in an honest day's work. He worked at Korn Industry for many years before retiring. Afterward, he became a part time employee as a security guard with Glasscock Company. When not working, Hercules enjoyed fishing, playing solitaire, and spending time with his family and friends. In addition, to his wife, mother and father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Garrick Robinson, a niece, Joyce Robinson and a nephew, Anthony Robinson. (both Joyce and Anthony were reared as his own) Hercules departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina. Hercules leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Hercules (Geraldine) Garrick, Jr.; a daughter, Jakayla Garrick; a daughter in law, Bernadette Rice Robinson; a sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Kennedy Johnson; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a special friend, Dorisa Dinkins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
