Herbert Lee Rembert, husband of the late Margaret Rembert, was born on September 24, 1956, in St. Charles (Lee County), South Carolina to Mr. Herman Rembert and the late Vermell Charles Rembert.
Herbert was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a member of the graduating Class of 1975 from Sumter High School. Herbert, affectionately called “Butterfly”, joined the United States Army after high school. He served his country faithfully for six years. After his career in the Army, he became a truck driver.
In addition to his wife, Margaret Rembert and his mother, Vermell Charles Rembert; Herbert was preceded in death, by a sister, Deloris Rembert; three brothers, Don Rembert, Matthew Charles Rembert, Jerome Rembert, and a nephew Carlos “Steeler Boy” Franklin.
Herbert departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina.
Herbert Lee Rembert leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his precious memory, his father, Herman Rembert; two daughters, Tameka Tindal (caregiver), and LaTaiffa Rembert, both of Sumter, SC; three sons, Herbert “Herbie” Rembert of Roanoke, VA, Daryl (Connie) Mack, and Darell (Wanda) Mack, both of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Rev. Moses (Lisa) Rembert, Christopher Rembert of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Betty Rembert and Diane Rembert Brown, both of Sumter, SC; twelve grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a close friend, Jerome (Bo) Herrington; all of whom will miss him dearly.
