Obituary Mrs. Hattie Mae Duncan, the wife of the late Henry Duncan, Jr. was born December 18, 1929 in Wedgefield, SC to the late Hopkins and Sally Ann Thomas Washington, Jr.Mrs. Duncan graduated from Orangehill Community School in Wedgefield, SC. She received Christ at an early age. During her youth and into adulthood, she attended Orangehill R.U.M.E. Church, while there she served as the church secretary and as an usher. After uniting in marriage to Henry Duncan, Jr., she joined Orangehill AME Church in Wedgefield, SC and was a member of the choir.Mrs. Duncan worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor in the Hotel and Hospitality Industry in Sumter, SC. Whiles prospering in this field, Mother Duncan helped many family members, friends and others attain employment in the Hotel and Hospitality Industry. She was a hard worker and a fair and ethical supervisor.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Henry Duncan, III and Rebecca Duncan; three brothers, James Washington, Frank Washington, Sr. and Leroy Washington; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Taylor and Lillian W.
