Obituary Hannah Mae Johnson was born July 30, 1929 in Sumter to the late Simon and Jacklyn Johnson, Jr. Hannah was a lifelong member of Clark United Methodist Church and served on many ministries within the church, that included Sunday School Teacher, Usher Board Communion Board Chairperson, the Adult Choir, Clark's Senior Ministry, Kitchen Committee and the United  Methodist Women. Hannah was a domestic worker for the Harvin family for over thirty-five years and for other families in and around Sumter County. Hannah loved to cook and thoroughly enjoyed hosting  dinners, however most of all she loved God and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Perry (Evelyn) Johnson, Walter  (Martha) Johnson and Olivia Johnson; a sister, Rosa Lee Johnson, nephews, Walter "Ike" Johnson, Wilbert "Pee Wee" Herriott, Darrell Johnson and Reginald McLaughlin; a niece, Gloria McLaughlin; her precious pet, Lucky and   special cousin, Sarah Wheeler. Hannah departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in Sumter. Hannah leaves to share her precious memory and carry on her legacy a daughter, Minnie Johnson, Green, a sister, Ora Lee Johnson; three nephews, Sammie Johnson, Sr and Walter Johnson both of Sumter, SC and Bennie (Jacqueline) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; a niece, Grace Johnson of Sumter, SC; grandnieces and grandnephews, Jocelyn Kennedy (son, Justin) and Deya Johnson (daughter, Alana), Kerri J. Sanders (son, Clifton Izayah), Sammie Johnson, Jr, Lydell Johnson, Valeryan Johnson (daughter, Brooklyn and Veronique Johnson; special goddaughters, Betty Durant, Julee Bradley and Johneise Montgomery, special godson, Ja'Via Lammie, other godchildren, special sister/friends, Mrs. Hattie Mae Brown and Mrs. Hazel Ree White and a host of other relatives and friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Hannah Mae Johnson, please visit our floral store.
