George Rhodes III, son of the late George Rhodes II and Mary Jenkins Rembert, was born on March 15, 1948, New Bern, North Carolina. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. He worked as a painter for a number of years until he retired. At an early age he joined the Church of God by Faith. George was preceded in death by two children, George Rhodes and Anthony Rhodes, one sister, Edna Mae Ford, two brothers, Earl Jenkins and Titus Rembert. The human spirit has taken flight at the call of The Heavenly Father. Today, we salute that flight, and join in the home going celebration of George Rhodes III. He entered into His eternal rest on Saturday, June 10, 2023 He leaves to cherish his many fond memories a loving and devoted wife Minnie Rhodes, seven children Lekita (Quincy) Pringle, Alecia Rhodes, David Rhodes, Yolunda (Quintez) Ford, Blonnshae (Joseph) Samuel, Casondra (Thomas) Gibbs, Wanda (Reginald) Jones and a surrogate son James Peoples; one sister, Julia Gaymon; four brothers David (Darlene) Jenkins, Joseph (Mary) Rhodes, Charles Rembert and Leroy (Willie Jean) Peeples; brothers-in-law, Byron (Peggy) Laws, Minister Willie (Inell) Solomon, Leroy (Betty) Solomon of Texas and Salayman Na'im Abdu-Sakur (Bouchracain) of Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law Lillie Jackson, Roberta Rembert, Bobbie Jenkins, Loretta Laws, Deneshia (Michael) McKinney, Patricia Green, Tinnie McCullogh, Jessie Parrott, Diane Laws and Brenda Solomon and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends dear to him.
