Geneva Sumpter was born on January 15, 1943, in Sumter County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Charlie and Online Webb Sumpter. Geneva attended the public schools of Sumter County. She was employed by various employers including Model Dye, Shaw Lumber Company and McElveen Manor until her health started to fail. Geneva loved playing spades, working puzzle books and watching the television show, Law and Order. Geneva accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a lifelong member of Congruity Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by one son, Harrison Sumpter; one sister, Mary Billie; and one brother, Charlie Sumpter. Geneva departed this life on November 1, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Geneva leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Angeniller (Demetrius) McDuffie, Georgia (Larry) Davis, Vicky (Freddie) McKenize; one son, Tyrone (Nikki) Sumpter; three brothers, Josh (Geneva) Sumpter, Herbert (Beatrica) Sumpter, and Robert (Linda) Sumpter; two sisters, Hattie Mae (Willie) McKenzie, and Jessie Galloway; nineteen (19) grandchildren, forty (40) great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
