Obituary   Eugene Deas, Jr. was born January 18, 1932 to the late Alene Rembert and Eugene Deas, Sr. The Lord Jesus Christ saw fit to take Eugene from our presence on Wednesday, April, 14, 2021 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC. He was united in Holy Matrimony to his loving wife Doretha Vernetta Deas at Eastern Community Church in Washington, DC on April 14, 1984, who he lovingly cherished. Eugene attended the public schools in Rembert, SC. He was self employed with his own Landscaping Company (Metro Landscaping) for over 50 years serving the DC, MD and VA areas. Gene, affectionally known by family and close friends was a fun-loving, meek and humble man. He loved a good sermon and listening to the Word of God during Bible Study. He loved to Barbeque chicken, turkey legs, ribs and pork on his BBQ pit on the weekends. Gene would always make his special (secret) BBQ sauce to keep you coming back for more. He had a smile and laugh that would keep you happy no matter what, while talking to you endlessly. Gene will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edwin A. Chambers, Jr., four sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his wife, Doretha V. Deas, four daughters; Jean Deloris (James) Gamble, Vernetta (Albert) Chambers, Mary Chambers and Natalie (Tyrome II) Hollomon; two sons, Clinton Deas and Eugene Deas, III; two     brothers, Whitt (Ruth) Deas and Charles (Mary) Deas; eleven grandchildren, Terrence, Juanita-"Pooch" (Christopher), Lauren, Jamie, Tyrome III, Clinton, Latasha, Annette, Zyeir, Bryce, and Joel; nine  great-grandchildren; Lonnell, Jr (DJ) better known by Papa as "My Boy", James, Jr "Wooda", Ani'Ja, Samuel, David, Daniel, Alicia, Emarri and Antoine; five sisters-in-law, Thomansina, Elevera, Maxine, Joyce and Frances; three brothers-in-law;  Robert, Tyrone and Wayne and a host of nieces,  nephews and friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Eugene Deas, Jr., please visit our floral store.
