Today, we gather at this sacred place to celebrate life and cherish the memory of our beloved Eugene “Gene” Davis.
Gene was born May 11, 1966, in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Tommy Lee Davis and Martha Mae Johnson Davis.
Gene was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, South Carolina. He was willing to help anyone in need.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Pauline Johnson Knox; nephews, Johnathan Davis, Jermaine Davis and James E. Sweat.
On October 2, 2026, our beloved Eugene Davis peacefully answered the Master’s call and entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though his earthly journey ended, his precious memories will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Gene leaves to cherish his precious memories, four sisters, Lucy (Wadell) Singleton, Thomasena Sweat, Patricia (Terence) Williams, all of Sumter, South Carolina and Deacon Phyllis Willean Johnson of Norwalk, Connecticut; three stepsisters, Patirica Dinkins, Stephanie Joe, both of Sumter, South Carolina and Teresa (Dewitt) Taylor of Saint Stephens, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Randy Sweat; sister-in-law, Shelia Johnson; two uncles, Jimmy Johnson of Sumter, South Carolina and Harry Johnson of Bridgeport, Connecticut; two aunts, Lucille Davis of Sumter, South Carolina and Ruth Mae Dorleans of Norwalk, Connecticut; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish the love, and memories shared with him.
Though Gene has departed this earthly life, his legacy of kindness, service, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
