https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/essie-mae-lewis Essie Mae Gallishaw Lewis was the daughter of the late Easta Mae Gallishaw Dolford and the late Doc Moore in Oswego, South Carolina on November 22, 1948. She later moved to Sumter, South Carolina. Essie Mae received her formal education in the public schools of Sumter County. As a youth she joined Clark United Methodist Church in Sumter, South Carolina where she served faithfully during her youth. During her life Essie Mae worked for Sumter County Public Works and Fleming Cleaning Service. "Sister" as she was affectionately known, was very nurturing and family oriented. She helped to take care of her younger siblings as well as her nieces and nephews. She was a great cook and made sure no one went hungry. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to John Lewis. Essie Mae was preceded in death by nine brothers: Lester Moore, Lucious Moore, Monk Moore, David Gallishaw, Jimmy Gallishaw, Butch Gallishaw, Nathan Gallishaw, Herbert Lee Dolford, and Willie Dolford, one daughter; Denece Lewis Belcher and one granddaughter; Kierra Gipson. She leaves to cherish her memories, three sons: David Lee Gallishaw of the home, Harrial (LaShawn) Gallishaw and Jermaine Lewis both of Sumter, South Carolina, two sisters; Dianne (David) McKenzie of Olanta, South Carolina, and Annette (Howard) Addison of Cypress, South Carolina, two sisters in law; Ollie Gallishaw of Lydia, South Carolina and Ollie Gallishaw of Sumter, South Carolina, six grandchildren: Brittany Belcher, Chadse Belcher of the home, Michael Belcher, Domonique Porcher, Sherell Porcher, and Antwan Porcher all of Sumter South Carolina, five great- grandchildren; Greg Lipcom, Chloe Lipcom, Mychal Belcher, My'Kaylah Belcher all of Sumter, South Carolina and My'Kel Belcher of Turbeville, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
