Esau Mashore was born on September 18, 1943, to the late Joseph and Bessie Mashore of Pinewood, South Carolina. Esau received his education in the School System of Sumter County. At an early age Esau joined the New Hope UME Church in Pinewood, South Carolina; and later moved to Thomasville, North Carolina. Esau was employed by Thomasville Fur, until he retired. In addition to his parents, Esau was preceded in death by one sister, Rosa Mae Mashore Canty; brothers, Joe Moses Lee Mashore and Nathan Mashore; grandparents, O'Donald and Carrie S. Green and a nephew, Glencient Mashore. God saw fit to call Esau Mashore home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Magnolia Garden Health Facility located in Thomasville, North Carolina. Esau leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Reverend John E. Canty and Bernard Canty; sister, Josie M. Kirkland; brother, James (Lucretia) Mashore; niece who was raised in the home, Barbara (Louis) Griffin; aunt, Grace Nelson of Hartsville, South Carolina; uncle, Solomon Green of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Patricia Mashore of Thomasville, North Carolina; two nieces, Tracie Mashore and Jenia Mashore of Highpoint, North Carolina; five grandchildren; two caregivers; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
