Eliza Bracy was born July 15, 1959, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Leroy and Carrie Lee Sumpter Bracy. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY and later in life, he relocated to Rembert, SC. Eliza was married to Elizabeth Mayrant Bracy for over forty-five years. He worked as an automotive mechanic for thirty-six years and enjoyed replacing engines in cars and trucks. Eliza will be truly missed and remembered by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Eliza was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby "JJ" Bracy; his sister, Alzoria Bracy; daughter, Leary Bracy; son, Elijah Bracy; and grandson, Nareese Bracy. Eliza Bracy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Sumter, SC surrounded by his family and loved ones. Eliza leaves to cherish his memories, a beautiful, caring and devoted wife, Elizabeth Mayrant Bracy; two sons, James (Racheal) Bracy and Timothy Bracy; two daughters, Cassandra Bracy and Yalonda Bracy; fourteen (14) grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Sabrina Myers; one brother, Billy (Samantha) Bracy; sister-in-law, Julia Mickens; brother-in-law, Edward Mayrant; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eliza's worth, laughter and compassionate words of wisdom will be missed by all of us.
