Obituary Dwayne Edward Wright was born October 29, 1966 to Edward J. and Louise Oxendine Wright in Brooklyn, New York. Dwayne was raised in a Christian home and was a loving and caring person. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior while attending Varick   Memorial AME Zion Church in Brooklyn, NY. As a youth he served as an Acolyte. His service included ushering and choir member. His first song that he led in the choir into was "Let Jesus Fix It For You". Dwayne was educated in the New York school system and was a graduate from Westbury High School in Westbury, Long Island, NY. He worked for the New York Police Department as a School Safety Officer many years, then he changed his career to become self employed as a Barber, a profession he loved because he enjoyed being with people. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Mattie Wright, maternal grandparents, Reverend William and Azalee Oxendine and a cousin, Michelle Chapman. Dwayne leaves fond and lasting memories of compassion and love to his son, Lavar Jordon Wright of Brooklyn, NY, a daughter, Tylicqua Inman and grandson, Landon of Brooklyn, NY; a life friend, Angela Inman of Brooklyn, NY; his parents, Edward J. and Louise Oxendine Wright of Wedgefield, SC; three sisters, Jacquelyn (Alvoyd) Nicks of Lithonia, GA, Janice T. Potter of Winston-Salem, NC and Valorie Wright of Sumter, SC; a brother, Bruce J. (Okeyma) Wright of Walkertown, NC; three nieces,   Dana, Jalese and Navaeh; four nephews, Marquise, Wesley, Bibion and  Jordan; five aunts, Elaine Peay, Geraldine Hogan, Delores Harris, Mary Platt and Evelyn Miller; four uncles, John (Maggie) Oxendine, Roosevelt Harris, Roger Sherman and Jasper Jones; six grandnieces and one nephew and may cherished cousin and dear friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Dwayne Edward Wright, please visit our floral store.
