Douglas Edward Jones was born March 20, 1966, in Atmore, Alabama, to the late Deacon Edward Curry, and Rose Jones Curry. Doug grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey. At an early age he joined the United States Army. Doug was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved laughing, making others laugh, working, and spending time with his family. He gave his life to Jesus Christ at an early age and grew to know Him as His Lord and Savior. Doug moved to South Carolina in 2012 with the love of his life, Taii-ko Montiero. In 2013, he joined A.L.I.V.E. Praise & Worship Center, under the leadership of Senior Pastor James F. Goodman. Doug served as an Usher and within the Men's Ministry. On June 16, 2016, Doug and Taii-ko were joined together in holy matrimony and shared a life of love and oneness. He possessed a strong work ethic and was proud to take care of his family. During his time in South Carolina, Doug worked skillfully in Maintenance at Bates Middle School, Sumter High School, Target, and Walmart (N. Guignard Drive). Doug was loved by his many co-workers and friends and will be sorely missed. Doug departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Prisma Health in Sumter, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his loving parents; sister, Patricia Curry-Portee; and uncle, Clyde Boatwright. Doug leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving and devoted wife, Taiik-ko Jones; son, Douglas Brinson; five daughters, Lisa Brinson, Leslie Muhammad, Crystal Brinson, Alaysha Jackson, and Tatyana Schofield; sister, Joanne Curry; two loving and devoted aunts, Patricia Boatwright and Hattie Howard; grandchildren, Al-Jahmir Curry, Casmir Curry, A'sylah Williams, Zanayah Curry, Sydia Muhammad, Aamil Muhammad, Azeem Muhammad, and coming soon, Azhar Muhammad; nephews, nieces, and a host of other loved ones, and friends.
