Obituary Please Click Link Below for the Live Funeral Services of Mr. Coaxum10:00 AM Funeral Services for Donald Coaxum Thursday, May 28, 2020Donald Lynn Coaxum was born Janaury 26, 1953 in Beaufort, SC and was the first-born son of the late Lymon and Callie Coaxum.Donald attended the public schools in Beaufort County, SC.  Donald was baptized at an early age at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beaufort, SC.  He attended Benedict College in Columbia SC, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.  After graduating from Benedict College, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a Radio Teletype Operator in the U.S.  Army Signal Corps. Upon being honorably discharged from active duty with the U.S. Army, Donald worked as a supervisor for Southern Bell Telephone Company.Donald was always a free-spirit and dabbled in many professions and enterprises before settling into construction  his father's trade. At the time of his death, he was semi-retired, living on St. Helena Island, SC, close to his father's birthplace.He departed this earthly life  on Thursday,  May 21, 2020 after a sudden and brief illness.He leaves to mourn his passing a daughter, Corinne Adelle Coaxum; a son, Marlon Andrew Coaxum (Ashley; his twin brother, Ronald Wynn (Laura) Coaxum; younger brother, Kelvin Andrew (Janice) Coaxum; the mother of his two children, Katie Sigler (Lemuel) Washington; six grandchildren; Da'Shaud, Somia, Marquise, Damarcus, Carmen and Brooklyn; a nephew Derek Andrew Coaxum; two nieces: Janine L'Nette Coaxum and Keyonna White (Emmett) Taylor; a very special life-long friend, Stanley Montgomery; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
