Diane was without a driver's license so she took the bus daily, two buses to be exact, and she walked another two miles to and from Ford Rouge Plant, despite the weather conditions. Diane participated in various classes and union activities, providing Ford Motor Company 33 1/2 years of dedicated service. She retired in April 2011 from Ford's Livonia Transmissions Plant. To those around Diane, she was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, godmother, and especially a friend. Those who knew her could say, she was quiet, strong, spoke her mind, stern when she needed to be, yet she was always there to offer praise. Diane would always say, "God has been so good to me, he is the head of my life and I know where my blessings come from."Diane was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Parr III.On February 18, 2015, God saw that Diane was getting tired so He closed her eyes, one final time and gave her eternal rest.Diane leaves to cherish her memories and legacy a daughter, Dawn Parr; three brothers, Alphonso (Hattie), Clifford (Patricia) and Patrick; three sisters, Irma (William), Alethia (Harrison) and Barbara (John); her sisters in spirit, Nora Bakon, Loucinda Beard, Linda Thompson, Brenda Mills, Gertrude Cherry, Marva Stanton, Corine Lundy and Barbara Flennoy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
