Obituary Derlia (Dell) Scott McFarland was born on July 4, 1957 in Sumter, SC to the late Hattie Mae Scott and the late David McBride.Derlia received her Christian Education at the Mulberry Baptist Church. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School Class of 1975.Dell as she was affectionately called by her family and many friends was a kind, gentle and loving person. Dell was a special person in her own way and will be long remembered and missed by her devoted husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers and all of relatives and friends.Derlia was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Mae Scott and David McBride; three brothers, Eugene Scott, Lee Mark Scott and Roosevelt Scott.Derlia "Dell", the wife of John McFarland transitioned from this life on Monday, June 10, 2019 in LaGrange, GA.Dell precious and fond memory will be cherished by a loving and devoted husband of twenty-one years, John McFarland of the home; son, Jerome Giles of LaGrange, GA; two daughters, Nebela Kelley of LaGrange, GA and Latonya (Quinton) Traylor of Valley, AL; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; four brothers, Joe C. (Susan) Scott, Major (Sharon) Scott, Robert Scott all of Sumter and Joseph Scott of Columbia, SC; six sisters, Emma J. Scott of Baltimore, MD, Mattie (Sam) Mickle of Philadelphia, PA, Shirley (Henry) Wells, Etta Jean (Philip) Abram, Dorothy (Moise) Billie, Novella (Alfred) Williams all of Sumter, SC; one aunt, Vernice T.
