Obituary

Obituary Debra L. Johnson was born July 20, 1959 in Sumter, SC to the late James and Janie Ragin Johnson. She was a 1977 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York. Debra was a fighter. She beat breast cancer 3 times…she beat Covid. She was a strong willed lady with a heart of gold. She would go out of her way to help anybody even complete strangers. She loved God & church. She joined Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, New Laurel Baptist Church & Apostle Dr. P.O. Coleman Ministries. She  attended different churches online as well. She worked for Butler's Seafood for 10 years, Federal Mogul for about 10 years and then Siemens which turn into Pure Power Technologies until her health declined. Laraine, or "Raine" as she was affectionally called didn't enjoy anything more than being a mother and grandmother. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She had a heart of gold and would do anything to help you whether she knew you or not. Her entire life was dedicated to providing the best possible life for her children, grandchildren and her brother. Raine was a true social butterfly and her work speaks volumes for her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mitchell and Clementine Ragin and Edith Johnson. On October 11, 2021, Debra departed this earthly life for her heavenly home. Debra leaves to cherish her precious memories two devoted daughters, Tiffany D. (Kelvin) Mellette of Goose Creek, SC and Brittany Fleming of Sumter, SC; a bonus son, Walter E. (Christel) Fleming of Manassas, VA; six loving grandchildren, Tyzjah Johnson and Javian Lessington of Columbia, SC, Destini Lessington, Donovan  Prioleau, Briyah Fleming and Tionna Singleton all of Sumter, SC; one amazing great-granddaughter, Amira     Ladson; brother, Gerald Johnson of Columbia, SC; a special nephew, Tywan Burgess of Sumter, SC; half-brother, Alex Price of Warren, MI; half-sister, Joan Price of Queens, NY; special aunt, Shirley (Thomas) Levy of          Columbia, SC; special uncle, Ira Ragin of Charlotte, NC' two grand   nephews, one grand niece, lifetime friends who grew to be her sisters, Gwendolyn Isaac, Veronica Magazine and Sharon Housey; a special set of Ragin cousins, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family members.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Debra L.
