David Jenkins, 77, was born on November 22, 1946, in Rembert, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Isaac and Sylvia Holiday Jenkins.  David was educated in the Sumter County school system and a graduate of the Ebenezer High School, Class of 1965. He began working at Exide Battery the same year until his retirement. David served the Lord faithfully and was a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church of Rembert where he served as a Trustee and previously on the Male Choir. He was also an avid farmer. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Sherman Jenkins; and a brother, Clifton Jenkins. David Jenkins departed this world on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Sumter Rehabilitation in Sumter, South Carolina, David leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Terrance (Natasha) Jenkins and Bryan (Kelly) Jenkins, through the wedded union with Sadie Sanders Jenkins; four grandchildren, Christopher Roberts, Zabien Jenkins, Marcus Jenkins, and Rachel Jenkins; two sisters, Dorothy Jenkins and Mattie Jenkins; three brothers, Issac (Mamie) Jenkins Jr, Henry (Geneva) Jenkins, and Marvin (Jannie) Jenkins; two special daughters in love, Melissa Nickens McBride and Charlene Nickens McGee; grand goddaughter, Shanise McClary; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
