Obituary

"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and the beauty is vain; but a woman who fearth the Lord, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31: 10, 28-30 Chiffon Gamble Hodge was born on May 3, 1978 in Sumter, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Eugene Milton and the late Edna Ruth Epps Gamble. Chiffon graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1996. She was employed by Young's Market, Rainbow Retailer and Advance America. Chiffon was a customer service representative for each of these employers. She decided to further her studies and attended Central Carolina and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science, with a major in Management. She also received the Technical Education Certificate of Patient Care Technician (certified CNA), Certified Phlebotomist and EKG Technician. Chiffon began working in the ministry and served in the House of God as an Armor Bearer, Missionary, and Sunday School Teacher. In 2016, she joined Cross Roads Christian Fellowship Ministries and served on the Hospitality, Pastor Support, Sister 2 Sister Ministries, Sunday School Teacher, and Ministerial Staff. In September 2018, Prophetess Chiffon Hodge was called into the Gospel Ministry and was licensed to preach the Gospel. During the Pandemic of 2019, God favored her vision and launched her foundation, "God's Jewel". (Motto: "Mass One Crisis at a Time") Each year she blessed people out of her pocket or with prayer and words of encouragement. In 2022, God spoke to Chiffon to start a business in a drought with $30.00. She was the owner of "Chiffon's Lingerie Boutique". Chiffon was united in holy matrimony to James "Lorenzo" Hodge, her Boaz. Their union was made of happy memories, blessings, and three beautiful girls. On Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, she quietly and softly accepted the call of God. She was preceded in death by her mother and brother, Robert Lee Gamble. Chiffon leaves to celebrate her life and cherish precious memories, her husband of 14 years, three daughters, Ki'Ari, ZaKaiya, and Joi'Kylee; five sisters, Anna (Rodney) Cooper, Carolyn (Cory) Wilson, Lynda (Anthony) Cuffie, Cynthia Capers, and Lillie Peterson; four brothers, Eugene Milton, Jr., James Gamble, Larry Gamble, and Johnny (Sandra) Gamble; father and mother-in-law, Deacon James and Rutha Hodge; sister-in-law, Latasha Hodge; and a host of nieces, nephews, other close relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
