Charles White was born on May 11, 1950, in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Daniel and Mamie Washington White, Sr.
Charles attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Mayewood High School Class of 1971. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and served faithfully as a Deacon until his death at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, Sumter, South Carolina.
After years of loyal and dedicated service, Charles retired from Becton Dickinson, where he was a dedicated and valued employee. He had a passion for gardening and visiting the elderly in his community. Charles will be remembered most for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends and his commitment to feeding the elderly in the community that he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Daniel White, Jr. James White, Leroy White, Bernice White, Anna White, Lillie Mae White and Thelma White; and an aunt, Lucille Washington.
On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Charles White passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Charles White leaves his cherished precious memories to his four children, Steven White of Greenville, South Carolina, Marc (Yocasta) White of Buford, Georgia, Savertia Hamilton of Charleston, South Carolina, and Dabrishia Davis of Greenville, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Quinn White, Sofia White, Christine Guerrero, Marco White, Isaiah Gilliard, Kenyanah Meggett, Jackson Davis, Jordan Davis, and Jenna Davis; two sisters, Frances (Gerald) Mobley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Magadalene Barber of Dalzell, South Carolina; a long time friend, Dorthy Cheagle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends
