Carolyn Brunson Bryant, affectionately called "Baby Sister" was born April 5, 1952 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Purdey and Lula Holiday Brunson. Carolyn was educated in the public schools of Sumter and Clarendon County. She was a dedicated employee in the school district for over twenty (20) years. Carolyn was married to the late James L. Bryant for seventeen years. She was an active member of the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. In addition to her husband and parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosa Lee McCoy and Mary Hilton; and two brothers, Wilbur Brunson and John Brunson. Carolyn departed this life on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, South Carolina. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories, three sons, Robert (Katenya) Player, James (Chanita) Bryant and Steven (Rochelle) Bryant all of Sumter, South Carolina; three daughters, Nicole (Gregory) Taylor of Wedgefield, South Carolina, Yolanda Spann of Savannah, Georgia and Loretta (Johnnie) Keniley of Washington, DC; twenty-one grandchildren, two of which were raised in the home, James A. Dennis and Keywanna T. Witherspoon; twenty-three great grandchildren; one brother, Frank Brunson of Baltimore, Maryland; three sisters, Ann McCray, Martha James and Ella Brunson all of Sumter, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
