Annette Canty Johnson affectionally known as "Big Al" was born April 29, 1949 in Sumter to the late Tal and Janie Flemming Canty. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister and grandmother. She was married to the late Willie "Nanie" Johnson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosetta Canty, her twin Jeanette C. Johnson, brother, David Canty and a great-grandchild, Shydarius M. Jackson. She departed this life on Monday, March 21, 2022 in Columbia, SC. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; a daughter, Sophia (Damon) Lewis of Columbia, SC; three sons, Willie L. (Tiffany) Johnson and Micheal Johnson of Sumter, SC and Anthony Johnson of Columbia; aunt, Ethel (William) Thomas; uncle, Leroy (Benita) Flemming; fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; special friends, Martha Mae Mellette and Kathy Bones; god-sister, Elonda Maxfield; god-son, Rodrick "Peanut" White along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to cherish memories of her life.
