Life Reflection Annette Delores Hampton Anderson affectionately known as "Monkey," "Baby Sister," and "Di" was born on December 11, 1952, to the late Sidney, Sr. and Sarah Moses Hampton. Annette was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, and she graduated from Mayewood High School Class of 1971. She continued her education as follows: graduated from Voorhees College in Denmark, SC with a Bachelor of Art Degree in History, graduated from Coker College in Hartsville, SC with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, and from Cambridge College in Boston, MA with a Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a faithful member at Ebenezer AME Church, where she was a Steward, Stewardess, Christian Education Director, Church School Teacher, Co-Chair of Pastor's Aide, past Missionary President, member of the Senior Choir, and former member of the Inspirational Voices. She also served in many positions at the Sumter District Level which was 1st Vice President of the Missionary, and PME Director for the Northeast Conference Missionary, until her health declined. She was employed with Sumter School District where she retired. Her love of children and passion for teaching caused her to come out of retirement and she taught in the private sector at William Thomas Academy in Sumter, SC where she officially retired. Some of her many accomplishments and accolades were being a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Queen of Lynchburg Chapter 247 Order of Eastern Star, House of Ruth, Golden Girls, Mayesville Town Councilwoman, and the Voter's Registration Commission. She was preceded in death by her parents Sidney, Sr. and Sarah Moses Hampton, her brother and sister-in-law Alonza B. and Ruth Ann Hampton. She departed this earthly journey on Friday, November 25, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband A.C. Anderson, Jr. of the home, a brother Reverend Sidney (Rita) Hampton, Jr. of Sumter, SC, a sister Delia Hood of Lillington, NC, three special daughters, Essie Anderson and Marie Davis of Sumter, SC and Denise Kirkland of Rembert, SC, two special sisters, Shirley (Booker T.) Benbow and Rosa L. Jefferson of Mayesville, SC, two brothers-in-law, Ernest (Betty) Anderson of Lynchburg, SC and Nathanial (Persephone) Anderson of Sumter, SC, four sisters-in-law Edith Abraham of Columbia, SC, Claretha (Ernest) Sinkler of Sumter, SC, Loretta (Kenny) Hudson of Philadelphia, PA and Hattie Wilson of Mayesville, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
