Obituary

Obituary Amelia Ann Taylor Alston, the daughter of Rhames Taylor and Louise Hunter, was born November 7, 1941 in Rembert, South Carolina.   Amelia was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, and later transferred to Private school and graduated from Mather Academy in Beaufort, South Carolina  She was employed by Manchester Inc. and later started a new career as Assistant Teacher at Mother Goose Daycare center at Shaw Air Force Base.  She retired due to her failing health. She was reared in a Christian home and was a faithful member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church where she became President of the Missionary Board, Sang on the Senior Choir and other Committees for many years.  Amelia later became a member of the, I am that I am Outreach Ministries, under the leadership of Apostle Willie Dyers, Jr.  She served as Mother of the Church. Ameila was referred to by her family and friends as "Sister Taylor".  Ameila was a very loving and caring person, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.  She loved spending time with her family.  She loved her home dearly and working in her yard where she grew beautiful flowers.  She always put her family first and they will have a special place in her heart.  She will be greatly missed by all. Preceded in Death by her Husband Eugene Alston, son Bernard Alston, three brothers Joseph, Rhames Jr. and Anthony Len Taylor and a daughter in law Doretha Alston She departed this life on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Springdale Healthcare in Camden, South Carolina. She leaves to cherish her fond memories, A loving daughter Jozlyn Alston of the home, Two sons Deacon Donnie (Sallie) Alston and Eugene N. Alston of Rembert, S.C. A daughter in law Stephanie Alston of Sumter, S.C.  a sister, Elisa Taylor Bynum of New York City, a brother, George (Yvonne) Taylor of Carson, California; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four sister in laws, an adopted son, John (Angie) Edwards of Chesapeake Virginia, A God Son Brian English of Camden SC; a special friend ,Maisy Lee Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.     To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Amelia Ann Taylor Alston, please visit our floral store.
