Isaiah 41:10 Alphonso Bernard Young was born April 22, 1963, in Sumter, South Carolina to Ellen Young Johnson. He was raised in a loving home surrounded by a family that encouraged him with strength and love. He loved his family and friends and was happy spending time with them, when he wasn't watching Westerns. Alphonso attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School. During his lifetime, Alphonso worked several jobs. He was an outdoorsman at heart, enjoying cutting grass, gardening, fishing and grilling. Patricia "Polly" Jasper was the love of his life. He would walk miles in the sun, rain or the cold of winter to spend time with Polly. Eventually, Alphonso and Patricia were united in marriage and to this union three (3) children were born, Sandreaka, Alphonso, Jr. and Alicia. He adored his wife and children. Alphonso was preceded in death by his son, Alphonso B. Young, Jr.; two granddaughters, Keyasia Tomlin and Ariana Wright; a grandson, Davion T. Smith; his brother, Oscar Razor and his mother-in-law, Edna Spencer Jasper. Alphonso departed this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Sumter, South Carolina. Alphonso's fond memories will be cherished by his wife, Patricia Jasper Young; two daughters, Sandreaka Jasper (Kendell) and Alicia Young Wright (William); his mother, Ellen Young Johnson; seven grandchildren, Kanya Prince, Darrionna Jasper, Crystiohna Tomlin, Kaniaya Tomlin, Jakiem Young, Jayceon Wright and Tayveon Wright; one sister, Shirley Young; two nieces, Courtney McCargo and Myasia Razor; special sisters, Denise Young Kirkland, Keniece Razor, and Hazel Spencer Wicker; a devoted aunt, Elise Young, and special aunt, Shirley Spencer; uncle, Robert Young; brothers-in-law, Christopher (Willie Mae) Jasper, Willie (Lorine) Jasper, Melvin Jasper and Waddell Jasper; special brother-in-law, Thomas Spencer and a host of other family, relatives and friends.
