Alice Whatley Dinkins

Alice Whatley Dinkins was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 16, 1941 to the late Millie Salter and the late Ruben Gardner. Alice was the only child. Alice was raised in Lake Wells, FL and Orlando, FL. She attended Jones High School. She was a majorette, as well as 1st Attendant to Miss. Jones High. Alice worked many years in the medical field as a Nurses Aide and CS Technician. She worked at Grady Memorial, Atlanta, GA; Orlando General East Hospital, Orlando, FL.; and Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL. Alice met Albert Dinkins and relocated to SC. Alice and Albert were married on February 8, 1997. Alice joined Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, Rembert, SC. She was a faithful member until her health declined. She was a member of the missionary board, and formed special friendships within the ministry with Mrs. Louise Dennis and Mrs. Mildred Smith. Alice was a fun loving, generous and sincere person. She was the life of the party. Alice loved to laugh, tell jokes, and she loved her family. Especially her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, taking rides in the country, and crocheting afghans. Alice was known for her macaroni and cheese and her sweet potato pies. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Millie Salter and Ruben Gardner. On the morning of November 3, 2023, after a gradual decline in her health, Alice Whatley Dinkins peacefully passed away from this life. Alice’s precious memories will be cherished by her husband, Albert Dinkins; three daughters, Adrianna Paige, Jamie (Alvin) Williams, and Stephanie (Sam) Johnson; two stepdaughters, Sheila (Paul) Bradley and Sharon Sanders; stepson, Albert (Shalonda) Dinkins, Jr.; eight grandchildren, Alvin Wayne Williams, Jr., Reuben Paige II, Jordan (Ethan) Green, Justin Johnson, Jason Johnson, Anthony Robinson, Jr., Danisha Walker, and Edwin Isaiah Sanders; four great grandchildren, Preston Paige, Hunter Paige, Kaiden Johnson, and Amyracle Gonzalez; aunt, Emma Simmons; uncle, Clemon Salter; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, others relatives and friends.
