Alfred Harris Jr. was born March 4, 1938, in Rembert to the late Alfred and Bessie Harris Sr. Alfred, also known as "Dook" or "Sonny Boy" attended the public schools of Sumter County and was employed in the concrete business for years. Alfred was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Francis Harris, Agnes Wright, Pauline Rembert, and Janie Brown; four brothers, Sammie Harris, Charlie Harris, Jimmy Harris, and Robert Harris; and one grandchild, Kayla A. Mcray. Alfred leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Barbara (Leonard) Bradford of Rembert, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Shanequa Bradford and Shequan Bradford of Rembert, South Carolina; two sisters, Jessie Amy Smith and Deborah Reed, both of Rembert, South Carolina; one brother, Jhonnie Mack (Aleen) Harris of Washington, DC; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
