Thomasena Denise Mayrant

October 30, 1967 - April 1, 2022

Thomasena Denise Mayrant was born October 30, 1967, in Sumter to the late Leary McCleod and the late James Garrett Mayrant. She was educated in the Sumter County School District where she graduated from Hillcrest High School, Class of 1987. Thomasena, who was affectionately referred to by family and friends as “Tina”, enjoyed shopping, cooking, walking, jogging, and she enjoyed taking great pride in caring for others. She loved her family and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Thomasena held various employment positions. She was employed with Bojangles for over twenty years and recently she was a home health care aide. Thomasena, at an early age gave her life to Christ at Rafting Creek Baptist Church in Rembert, SC. Recently she was a member of I AM That I AM Ministries in Camden, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amirra Pollard; a sister, Carolyn (Larry) Wright; four brothers, James Garrett Mayrant, Jr, Harrison “Bubba” Mayrant, John “Winki” Mayrant and Robert "Skin” McCleod; and two grandsons, Sabre Marcellus Mayrant and Deshawn Lesane, Jr. On Friday, April 1, 2022, Thomasena departed this life at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC. Thomasena leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sons, Steven (Quaivan) Mayrant of West Columbia, SC and Ralphon Pollard of Rembert, SC; two daughters, Winifred (Keaton) Wheeler of Irmo, SC and Tammara (JaCobley) Carlos; two sisters, Elizabeth (Elijah) Bracey and Julia Mickens of Rembert, SC; brother, Edward Mayrant of Rembert, SC; two aunts, Caroline Dalton and Faith Mayrant both of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Jamya Sharperson, Jeremiah Sharperson, JaCobley Maurice Carlos, Jr. and Jacaree Marcellus Carlos; a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
