Obituary Mr. Fred Prescott, known to some as “Dock”, widower of Shirley M. Prescott, was born December 23, 1936 in Bishopville, SC. He was born to the late James and Hallie Jennings Prescott. He was reared by his grandparents Leander and Estelle McMillian Jennings. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County where he graduated from Dennis High school in 1958. During his early years he was employed as a school bus driver and was later employed by River’s Farm in Sumter, SC. At early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Faith Deliverance Temple in Mayesville, SC. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ella Yates Canty, his sisters, Pam Prescott, Jackie Prescott, Sue Prescott Lee; a brother, Michael Prescott. Loving memories will forever be cherished by his stepmother, Thelma Prescott; a son, Bennie (Tammy) Jennings; four sisters, Frances Montgomery, Rosa Lee Jennings, Louise Slater and Jean Prescott; three brothers, James Prescott Jr., Larry Prescott and Jean Prescott; a aunt, Cathline Jennings; a god-child, Jakari Lewis, also known to him as Babycakes and a host of grands, great grands, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
