Obituary Bryant Dalton Portee was born on March 14, 1973 in Sumter, the youngest son of Theodore Portee and the late Emma Osborne Portee, and the husband of Termines Necool Mayhew Portee.He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. His passion was cooking. He was a master on the grill. He love his family and friends. To know him was to love him.At an early age Bryant accepted Christ and became a member of Rafting Creek Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to Second Calvary Baptist Church Kershaw, SC.He was a machine operator at Standard Nylon Plant in Lugoff, SC. He was employed with Hooks Diner and Catering, and Hooks-To-Go in Cheraw SC. Upon his departure, he was employed at Popeyes in Sumter, SC.He was committed to his family and ensured he instilled in his children a sense of love and humor the value of family.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Rose and Simon Portee, maternal grandparents Birdie and George Osborne Sr, two sisters, Annette Canty and Brenda Portee and a brother, Michael Portee, a uncle, George Osborne, Jr. and a aunt, Mary O. Mickens.He departed his earthly life on Thursday June 4, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Termines Necool Mayhew Portee; six children, Angel, Brykeem , Bryant Jr, Brina and Brianna Portee and Rachelle Hunter; he also was the foster parent of Ronnisha Dunham; two additional grandchildren reared in the home, Ciara and Kiara; his father, Theodore Portee Sr; five grandchildren, Ky'Asia, Tre'honor, J'marrion, Kionne and Keondra all of Rembert, SC; ten siblings, Jeanette (Freddie) Wright, Kathryn Holloman of Columbia, SC, Janie Canty of Sumter, SC, Barbara Portee of Indian Trail NC, Ronnie (Janice) Portee of Sumter, SC, Theodore (Ernestine) Portee Jr, Darryl Portee of Sumter SC, Harmony Portee, Shelia Portee, Melody Portee all of Columbia, SC; a mother in law, Diane (Willie) Nelson, a sister in law, Katrina Cornelius; a brother in law, Arrick Mayhew; three special aunts, Bertha (Lloyd) Daniels of Sumter, SC, Lena Williams of Washington, DC and Dorothy Smith of Philadelphia, PA, he loved all his nieces and nephews unconditionally, but he shared a special bond with Ingrid (Willie) Hooks and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.The family is receiving friends at 5035 Dais Road Rembert, SC.
