Obituary Teona Yolanda Tyler, daughter of Anthony and Theresa Tyler was born September 17, 1992 in Newark, Delaware.She attended Crestwood High School where she was a member of the JROTC, and was accepted in the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Debutante Cotillion Program. She studied Business Administration at Greenville Technical College.Teona professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Grace Cathedral Ministries. She sang on the youth choir and participated on many of the young adult activities.Teona "Princess or Doll" was a lady of grace and style, and had a passion for the finer things of life. She was a Trendsetter! Her sense of creativity was shown in her ever-changing styles. Simply put, Teona was "like a box of chocolates, you never knew what you would get next." She lit up every room she walked into with her million-dollar smile and sometimes cranky disposition!Teona was admired by many and envied by most for her wit and special brand of humor. And everyone knew that she was fiercely protective of those she loved and cared for deeply. She was strong, determined, free spirited, and lived her life fearlessly confronting a problem head-on! Her life's interests included shopping, movies, dining and she was an enthusiastic traveler. Teona will be remembered for her gift of "Gab" If love and prayers can carry one to heaven, we know Teona has arrived safely!She was predeceased by her biological mother, Michele Jones, April 13, 2004.Teona departed this life on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Sumter, SC.Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: father, Elder Anthony Tyler; mother, Theresa Gibbs Tyler, both of Sumter; three sisters, Raven Tyler, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Shayla (Mohammad) Crosby of Wilmington DE and Rashalai Currington of Charlotte, NC; four brothers, Anthony R. Tyler Jr. of Atlanta GA, Bryon A. Tyler of Shreveport, LA, Jamere Jackson and Lavar Jackson both of Wilmington DE and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM from the Bethesda Church of God 2730 Broad Street Sumter, SC with Pastor Al Sims, Officiating and assisted by Bishop Anthony Gibson of Grace Cathedral Ministries.A public viewing will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the mortuary.The family will receive friends at 1880 Escollonia Drive Sumter, SC and they are asking for no visitors after 8:00 PM each evening.
