Obituary Ms. Annette Canty, was born January 7, 1957 in Sumter, SC to Thomasina Canty McLeod and Theodore Portee.Annette was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, SC. Annette was employed by Pilgrim Pride as a Quality Control Inspector.Annette enjoyed her family and friends and truly was a joy to be around as she embraced people and met them where they were in life.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Nola Williams Canty, Sr., Simon and Rosa Mickens Portee; sister, Brenda Portee; three brothers, Michael McLeod, Michael Portee and Frank Canty; aunt, Rosa Lee Canty and uncle, Thomas Canty.She departed this life on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.Annette leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Marsha (Levern Bradley), Billups and Tamika (Larry Brown) Billups; her parents Thomasina McLeod and Theodore Portee; step-son, Howard Wright; five grandchildren, Tyrell Billups, Tyrig Billups, Tyshay Billups, Tykia Billups and Tykeem Billups; eleven great grandchildren; uncle, Algae Canty; aunt, Dorothy Smith; nine sisters, Jeanette (Frady) Wright, Queenie Canty, Margaret (Fred) Thompson, Nola McLeod, Barbara Portee, Shelia Portee, Melody Portee, Kathryn Holman and Francine McLeod; five brothers, Ronnie (Janice) Portee, Dedric Canty, Darryl Portee, Bryant (Termines) Portee and Theodore (Ernestine) Portee:, two special nieces, Lateshia Thames and Lashunda McLeod, special friends, Yvette King, Marie Waiters and Crystal Thompson, a daughter, that she took as her own Sheena Jacobs and a host of extended family members and friends who mourn her loss.The family is receiving friends at 969 Cherryvale Drive, Sumter, SC.
